Dear Woman: Have you tried Aloe Face and Hand Liquid Soap?

Aloe Hand &Face Liquid Soap is a rich, pearlescent, moisturizing hand and face cleanser with a generous amount of aloe. It creates a luxurious lather, leaving the skin feeling clean, smooth and silky, while minimizing the irritations experienced with some bar soaps. Its mild formula also makes Aloe Hand & Face Soap an ideal shampoo for children and adults alike.

Biodegradable, pH-balanced and non-irritating, it is mild enough for daily facial, hand, hair or body cleansing, and is suitable for those with sensitive skin.

  • Mild formula
  • Moisturizing cleanser
  • Mild and non-irritating
  • Pump-action dispenser

What do I think about this product?
Aloe Face and Hand Liquid soap can be used to wash the whole body because it is so gentle on the skin. It has this beautiful fragrance that stays a while on your skin. It is so thick that just a little on your sponge can go a long way so a bottle lasts for weeks!

Stay beautiful.

Diamond in the Rough

Hey Mister, listen to me I am talking to you.
I know you have your reservations but listen to the truth
I got no suit, observed no rules, but I will be of some use to you.
Don’t lose your cool, I know you’re through, but I got to say something to you
So before you throw out my papers saying I don’t have a second class
Could you calm down and let me tell you things they don’t even teach in class

Cos I am a diamond in the rough
Uncut. Unpolished. Diamond in the rough.
A little cut here and there and I am a world wonder
Diamond in the rough.

Uncut. Unpolished. Diamond in the rough
Dear lady, stop for a while I’m trying to catch up with you.
You said I couldn’t sing for beggars, you didn’t want a green horn with you.
I got no tape. My voice no shape. You wonder what I want with you.
You feel my pain but it’s a shame, there’s really nothing you can do.
But don’t hasten to write me off because I don’t even look prepared
I got something to show that I shouldn’t have left reserved.

Cos I am a diamond in the rough
Uncut. Unpolished. Diamond  in the rough
A little cut here and there and I am a world wonder
Diamond in the rough....

I wrote this piece some years ago. It’s actually a song. I wrote it after listening to the experiences of people that believed that they were better than the society saw them and they actually had something to offer. Bitter experiences I tell you. These people had only one thing going on for them; Belief and Hope.

April is the month of Diamonds. You are a unique in your own way. Just believe in yourself and explore all the possibilities within your reach. You are a star and don’t you dare stop pursuing your dreams.

Happy New month and may all your dreams come true. Much love...

The wearable and The weird

I love shoes! Every woman does right? It’s just that while some of us buy beautiful shoes when we can afford to, some of us run into serious debt because we just can’t help but buy any pair of shoes we like.

I really need to go shoe shopping after my exams because I need a few more pairs. I was just checking out some shoes online and saved some pictures.  I tagged the collection, The wearable and The weird.

Check them out...

I love some of them but some, I just wonder why on earth I would want to wear anything like that. Fashion I guess.

I just want to know which pair of shoes you think isn't what you would go out of your way to buy but you could wear them just to know how it would feel or something.

It is No 10 for me. The shoe looks like something used for home decor but look at the shape! It is just out of this life and it looks wearable.

I think No 18 was designed for a trendy, fashionable, talking peacock.

Thank you guys for wishing me good luck with my exams.

Things a girl should do if she aint already doing them.

Dance: Okay, you might not have the time nor the energy and you might not even know how to dance. Who said you should dance where people would see you? Just do it when you have the time and energy. It is great exercise and if you can’t really dance, you would be the one laughing at yourself. I do that.

Get a foot massage: You can pay for it or get someone close to massage your feet. It takes all the stress away.

Learn a new thing every month: Anything that makes you feel good. From cuisine to martial arts.

Frown less: We all hate wrinkles and baby, frowning brings them.

Surprise people once in a while: For example, If you wear make up all the time, show up somewhere without the usual ‘look’. Maybe light and barely there makeup.

Do something exciting once in a while.

Support a worthy cause.

Have yourselves a wonderful weekend ahead.

The crack of the matter

I love being a woman and yes, I want to turn heads when I walk into a room. (ahem.. not really because I am a little shy). I love fashion. I like looking and feeling sexy. But I don't believe that I have to show my buttcrack to be sexy. That, in my opinion is trashy. Trashy can be sexy but sexy doesn't have to be trashy.

Some days ago, I was looking for a shirt to wear to work and I brought out this fine shirt of mine that I had not worn in ages and wondered why it was so.  So I dressed up and as usual, I took a bike to get me to the next bus stop. I noticed that the air was carressing the lower part of my waist. Then it hit me; that part of my body was exposed and the people in the buses and cabs behind me were..well having a field day looking at my partially exposed behind. My crack wasn't exactly showing when I touched there but it must have shown once in a while when the bike entered a pot hole on the road.

Then my fight with my beautiful shirt began. I would draw it down, it would go up again. Then I had to hold it all the way. I realised why I hadn't worn that shirt in a while.
When I entered a bus, I am sure I must have shown something and some more when I got down and I am sure the passengers would be making fun of me because of the way I was preoccupied with making sure they see nothing and failing woefully.

Some ladies do not think it is wrong to show that part of their body when they are on bikes or any where for that matter. Every day you get to see all colours of booty and g-strings all over the place. I am not going to talk about the 'secrets' exposed in the process. You know you can see that on the beach but on the road in the morning? Comeon!

All I am saying is that a woman can look sexy even when she is decently dressed. There is nothing wrong with showing a little skin once in a while but not the way that people would call you what you are not. And wear your confidence baby. Afterall a lot of men think that there is nothing as sexy as a confident woman.

Keep looking good people!

Just for you

When I was in boarding school, we were warned never to wear any coloured underwear; just white. Our bras, panties, camisoles and underskirts had to be white. Our house mistress even ‘checked’ us sometimes and when you saw girls being punished for wearing coloured panties, you made a mental note to obey the rule.

We even started believing that wearing coloured underwear indicated dirtiness.

I did wear only white underwear but was not completely happy about it. The problem was that I loved sheer black underwear. I was fourteen and was beginning to discover my curves. I got a set of black lace bra, panties and a small but sexy under skirt from an older (and wiser) friend as a birthday gift. I guess she was also enjoying my transformation from the stick insect to a curvy young lady. I loved the way it looked on my light skin. I couldn’t wear them at school and that was hard because that was where I spent the most time and I so wanted to show off.

So after boarding school (Hurray!! I was done with high school), I hit the market and bought myself black and other daring colors like wine and pink. It was like breathing fresh air after being in a hot and smelly cave for months. At last, I got what I wanted. I was glad that I could be myself.

Conforming to the society and wanting to please others can be hindrances to being who you really are. Don’t get me wrong. Displaying good table manners in a room full of people is polite. Wearing that ancient bright green blouse that your mum gave you as a present to her birthday party is sweet and would bring tears to her eyes and to yours too. (For different reasons of course. You just spotted a particular cute dude in the little crowd and what on earth were you wearing!?).

Besides, you would want your brother to stop smoking because your father wants him to and for a cousin of yours to quit selling her body because the society shuns it. (And probably slap the taste out of her mouth {if she is younger} if she dare says anything like “it is my life”. Yeah and she is ruining it!).

I am talking about doing things for you and being you. When was the last time you really let go? Remember King David in the Bible? I am sure that when the king started to dance, his servants and everyone present knew nothing about what was about to go down and Showtime! He lost his kingly regalia and danced like he had never done before. Let me rephrase that; like he had always wanted to dance and praise his God. But the ‘kingly status’ was all about giving orders and putting up all the ‘kingly airs’. Even if he had to dance, it would be some ‘kingly movement’. Not much. So when he did that near nude serious dancing, the people were amazed. He did what he wanted and that was it.

You could loosen up a bit sometime. Do something you love that you wouldn’t do ordinarily because of some changes that have occurred in your life. Busy time schedules, marriage, kids…. Yeah I understand.

But it wouldn’t hurt if you did please yourself once in a while. Do something for you. Sign up for yoga classes, join a wine tasting club, visit a high end store and get a vintage dress that makes you look like a princess…

For once, dance to nothing but your own tune and do it your style. I am not saying you should be selfish. All I am saying is girl, have yourself some fun sometimes. And I bet that if you had the opportunity to enter the time travel machine and gone to ask the popular king David, he’d tell you that it felt real good!

Fashion Horror

The evolution of fashion is one thing that would not ever stop to amaze me. I have one word to describe the designers, the models, the clothes and the industry; awesome!
But some designers really make me ask questions like “Excuse me, was that made to be worn on this planet?”. I saw a girl last week walking on the streets, looking like a cockatoo. She was quite pretty but if you looked closely, the blouse she wore was scary.

It had bright coloured feathers all over it and the cut of the blouse was quite odd and this made this young woman look like the mentioned bird. To make matters worse, she paired the blouse with a pair of red skinny jeans and ridiculously high-heeled shoes.

Maybe she wore it to attract attention because she was a small woman, or the blouse is quite expensive which is what I strongly suspect. Some designer must have put in a load of ‘hard work’ to create that strange piece of clothing and would tell the whole world that every clothing item he creates, is unique and makes its wearer stand out in the crowd thereby convincing the little woman that she needed to wear that horror of a blouse on that very hot afternoon. She did stand out though. Please!

If a dress makes you look like an alien, an animal, a bird, a hooker in 300AD or something worse, please don’t spend your hard earned money buying it. You would probably wear it once, cause a terrible stir and swear never to wear it again. Stick to clothes that ‘make sense’ and suit your body type.

So you want to lose weight?

Yeah, yeah, you have been told by everyone in the world that you are FAT. Those who care about you have said the same thing using nicer words and encouraging you to do something about it. Maybe you’d like to try something or maybe not. Maybe you are living in denial and again maybe not.

So what do you want to think about yourself?….
Okay your BMI doesn’t say you are slim. Your friends are talking endlessly about weight loss programs. Your co-workers attach the word ‘big’ to whatever they have to say about you then there are other people like people you sit beside in buses and trains, your mother in-law, your boss, your shrink…these people may have unkind things to say sometimes. Or maybe not

Listen my dear; the opinion of the entire galaxy is just secondary. No one on earth should be swayed by what people think about him (or her). You should look deep into yourself and find out what you think about yourself. Believe me; you don’t need hours of counseling to discover that. Just look at yourself dispassionately and say what you see. After all, you are the one living in your skin.

The moment of truth is here! Are you ready? You would need these:
A pen and a paper
A full length mirror
Your favorite casual wear, dinner wear, work wear, night wear and if you swim; swim wear
Your critical thinking mind

Wear these clothes one by one and observe yourself carefully and critically but don’t be too hard on yourself. Just write what you see. Please do not look at the clothes, look at the body wearing them. I bet you’ve never really observed yourself in a full length mirror before going to work or before going out with your close friends. Yeah, when you’re going out for a dinner party, you could spend hours before a mirror trying to find the right dress but I bet you never did it with a pen and paper!
So does your body flatter those clothes? You know, does your body look attractive in those clothes?
Or do you just wear drab and unfashionable clothes?! Why for God’s sake?

Source

Okay, okay…so do you think you are fat and pathetically so? Do you think that those clothes are just for covering for you and never to make a fashion statement? Or do you think you are just a little overweight and you are just fine with it? You just need to update your wardrobe with more fashionable clothes and key into the ‘phat’ culture?

Girl, make up your mind because you are about to take on a harder task. Alright.
Now take off your clothes. Everything. Remember don’t be too hard on yourself. Believe me nobody is flawless. People just love themselves and try hard to keep in shape. Others of course visit plastic surgeons.
Now stare at the mirror closely and write what you think about your face, arms, boobs, stomach, thighs and legs. It is not an easy feat I know but it is something you have to do.
Now wear your clothes and go out for some fresh air. With the paper and pen in hand. Sit and take a deep breath. Good. Now try to summarize what you have written. Remember the words are your own and you want to establish reality.

So what do you think about yourself now that you have seen yourself? That is the big question.
If after what you have seen, YOU GENUINELY FEEL YOU LOOK OKAY and believe that YOU ARE NOT IN DENIAL and you are HAPPY with your appearance and believe that your weight is not (or should not be) a source of worry to people that care about you unless (or until) there is a health problem involved; then sweetheart, you shouldn’t feel any pressure to loose weight. And if you have to do it, it should be when you decide to do it. No pressure at all!!

But if the first reaction when you saw your naked body in that mirror was a cringe, if you looked at the cellulite on your thighs and belly with horror, if the way you look makes you want to puke, if you are always insecure or just got insecure after looking at yourself in that mirror, if you wear clothes to desperately hide yourself, if because of your weight you don’t want to go out and have fun with your friends, your relationship is suffering because of your low self esteem and you think you are just going to die of weight-related health problems; girl you just have to get on a weight-loss program! And fast!

Have a fabulous week..
