Adieu Cynthia Osokogu....

Please if you know nothing about beautiful Cynthia who was reported missing in July and was found dead and in a morgue in Lagos, read about it here.

I just want to advise ladies to be extremely careful and prayerful. Before you leave home, tell someone where you are going and who you are meeting so that if by any chance, you get missing or anything, people would know where to start from. Young girls, please meet up with people you don’t really know i.e people you met on Facebook, Twitter and BlackBerry Messenger in public places. No precaution is too small. There are ritualists, robbers and really bad people masked as ‘cool guys’ who are on these platforms looking for people to kill, rob, rape, and other bad things.

I am disheartened by this and it does remind me of something personal. It is indeed a crazy world. I wish her loving family the fortitude to bear the loss.

RIP Cynthia. Rest in the bossom of the Lord.

May God help us all.

    1. Thanks dear. I 'm glad you are back.

  2. God rest her soul, very good tips!

  3. Saw the story on TV where they caught her killers. Sad... guys wan take style look alike sef

  4. Funny enough someone told me the same thing. Very sad. May her soul RIP

  5. So many play life so loosely without any thought of consequence. People, especially young ladies, don't have to be paranoid, but just be aware....and never fear to say no.

  6. the society just gets crazier everyday...killing innocent souls is now no longer a big deal...May her soul RIP.

  7. This is the reason one has to be very judicious and balanced in embracing Social networking. Play with Social networking tools, but do not become a prey to it..always stay alert!!

  8. My sincere condolences to the family/friends of the young lady who was found dead.

Women have been targets for years and it is about time they stop and take heed to what is going on in this world and around them. Social networking sites is one thing but abuse, rape, domestic violence can also happen within the family network and with partners. Women need to educate themselves as to what action they can take and how to defend themselves should any of the above happen.
They also need to have people whom they can truly trust and speak to, especially if being abused by a family member or boyfriend for example.

Knowledge is power ladies, and you never know when you are going to need it. In England we have ICE on our mobiles. So if something should happen to us and our mobiles are found and someone goes into our contacts list and finds ICE which means In Case of an Emergency - the authorities etc immediately have someone close who knows us and they can contact them. This is really important if you have an accident. The police/ambulance are all informed about this on our phones.

Anyway, your post was very interesting and informative.
