Pheromones, tantalizing incense sticks and a curious cat

I was doing a research online earlier today and I stumbled on something that I find quite interesting; pheromones. Actually, there was a time I was reading a lot on the thing and found an equally curious partner in a friend of mine.

A pheromone is a chemical an animal produces which changes the behaviour of another animal of the same species (animals include insects). Some describe pheromones as behaviour-altering agents. Many people do not know that pheromones trigger other behaviours in the animal of the same species, apart from sexual behaviour.
Pheromones, unlike most other hormones are ectohormones - they act outside the body of the individual that is secreting them - they impact a behaviour on another individual. Read more here

So apart from sexual behaviour, pheromones can trigger other behaviours like people can like you more, you step into a room and people are drawn to you and you get ‘lucky’.

I and my dear friend ND contacted someone who sells perfumes and asked for her box of testers, you know tiny bottles you get to smell and even use a bit of the perfume to select a fragrance. We tested the pheromones there and were at it for hours sniffing and smelling and talking and came to an ‘inconclusive conclusion’; we weren’t sure how these fragrances were supposed to suddenly turn a woman into this sexually desirable queen bee or make people’s attitude towards you change. Ok there was no guy around though. Or people. It was just the two of us. LMAO.

ND later called me during the week to tell me that someone told her that pheromones are bad because using the person’s words ‘Makes your natural body smell rather overwhelming. In fact, people are going to see you as having body odour!’ The horror! I don’t know how true this is though. Saw some reviews online about some pheromone products. Very mixed.

Just like pheromones, I hear some incense creates moods. Like wow! Burning a ‘happy stick’ must be something. There are Kama Sutra incense sticks to create a ‘love atmosphere’ too. Okay!

Wondering how curiosity managed to snuff the life out of a cat that is supposed to have nine lives. Somebody lied! Hehe.

Have a fabulous weekend.

  1. lol@strong pheromones and body odour. The kind of odour tht person is talking of might be linked to nutrition, medication, hygiene etc.
I know males have a stronger smell than females cause of pheromones.
Perfumes may mimic pheromones but what makes each individual smell just a lil different from the next person wearing same perfume is their intrinsic body scent made up of pheromones.

  2. It is believed that the smoke that is emitted by the incense sticks during its burning carries the prayers to God. There are a number of incense sticks exporters that offer the best incense sticks across the globe.

  4. Some incense certainly does create a certain mood. Try burning some kyara and you will know what I mean.
